Don't mind me I'm just talking to myself...

Getting over surgery.  :)  Yep, it's been fun... and painful.  I've had arthritis since a teenager and both knees are bad.  I finally found someone who would perform a total knee replacement which wasn't easy since my gp didn't want to refer me due to my age and the idea that I could end up needing a second after I'm through my 50's.  But finally, the knee that was at its worst point has been replaced and I'll tell you.. everyone who's had it done said it was the best decision they ever made.  What they didn't tell me was that its the most painful surgery/recovery you can have.  I'm assuming that the majority were people who were already retired and had all the free time in the world.  Me.. not so much.  I'm working full time so to add that stress on top of the pain, pain pills (which are both a blessing and a curse) and general misery made it that much more difficult.

I had no idea the recovery time would take over 4 months to a year.  Not fun....

Happy 25th Anniversary to my wonderful husband.  Not many make it this far and let me tell you, it doesn't happen without work.... and patience and acceptance and flexibility and whole host of other things.  These days, it's definitely an accomplishment.  :)

So for all two of you who read here (Hi Mom), I've changed the gallery a bit.  Now I can add commentary and links if I want.

Nothing really new to add.  I've been working on my Christmas card and this year's theme is "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa."  Gone are the days where I could insert my kids into a Christmas scene.  Both are grown now so I'll have to wait for grandkids to do that again.  And I've been crocheting quite a bit, hoping to add to my Etsy store soon.

So the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament is over. Mark Mulder won it for the second time with Mardy Fish 2nd and Jack Wagner 3rd.    My husband, daughter and I volunteer every year and it's always a blast.  My favorites are Jack Wagner and Larry the Cable Guy.  Jack is always so nice and he tends to remember my daughter and I.  I'm always #TeamJack so this year I gave him a ball marker with that printed on it.  Larry was sweet enough to take a quick selfie with me.   The crowds were insane for Justin Timberlake.  Ironically, neither my daughter or I are big J.T fans so it wasn't a big deal standing or walking next to him.  I was tongue-tied enough talking to Jack, I always am.  :)  But it was some great golf and I got to see a lot of it close up.  Always a blast.  Maybe one day I'll take a decent photo with Jack.  That day the wind was really whipping.  :)

Officially on vacation.  My daughter is back for 10 days and is keeping our tradition of working the Tahoe Celebrity Golf Tournament at Edgewood Tahoe despite being newly married and living 2000 miles away now.  Working the tournament is hard on my arthritis but it's worth it.  And there's the fact that I've started to golfing with my husband ( if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right? ) and who knew I'd actually enjoy it so much.  Combined with the fact that I'm completely solar charged, this is my perfect vacation.  This image is not Tahoe but our home course.  Sunday we were playing and I was actually feeling the improvement I've been making.  From where I took this picture, I made it to the green and my ball rolled right in for par.  My best shot to date.  :)

I'm not sure if people are changing or if it's always been this way and social media is simply augmenting the evening news and bringing it to our attention.  It does seem like there's a lot of entitled attitudes out there.  Gone are the days where if you wanted something you worked for it and earned it.  People used to respect others whether it was their personal beliefs or their job... not any more though.  Christian businesses are sued for trying to practice their beliefs, retail customers are more rude than ever before, the NRA is vilified for existing, criminals, shot while while exhibiting violent behavior/weapons and resisting arrest, are promoted to sainthood and police are vilified.  It's insanity.

I'm a Christian who believes in gay marriage and gay rights and I believe in 'born that way' but I also believe that a person has the right to their personal religious beliefs. You'd think that would appease both sides but no, each side hates the f...
