I've been working on the print section and here's the first one. Machine is a 3D render that took days to render. I've chosen Zazzle.com as I find their products to be excellent. That said, I'm still searching out options but until then....
For designing Christmas cards that is. I'm still tweaking this one but thought I'd post the first render of it. My elves need some work as does the lighting I think but it's fun getting into the season. Even if it does irritate some people this early. :)
It's cold up in my office and my computer is rendering a sci-fi image in print size so I'm going to brew a cup of coffee with cinnamon and put a dent in a sci-fi novel on my Kindle. :)
I love my kids. I really do and I'm ecstatic that I have the chance to get away from the California cold (yes, there is more to California than the southern part of the state) but we planned their visits back to back and I'm just dreading getting on a plane first thing in the morning when we just got back.
We had a great time at our daughters though and thankfully both locations are much warmer than here at home.
I had a milestone birthday and instead of a party we decided that it would be more fun to celebrate with the kids, each of whom happen to be 2000 and 3000 miles from home and a thousand miles away from each other. So we headed to the east coast and in addition to celebrating my birthday we celebrated our son-in-law's recent military graduation. Sadly, there was no ceremony despite his placement at the top of his class but I'm told they tend to do this when schedules are skewed as they are right now thanks, in no small part, to the recent hurricanes. But it was all g...
It's been a while but I managed to get about an hour last night in Daz Studio. I'm still learning the best settings for rendering in iRay. It's not an easy program to learn though and it's getting more and more difficult to find the time I need to spend in it. This was just a quickie though, took just an hour to set up and then set it to render overnight.
On a personal note, we bought airline tickets to South Carolina last night.... just in time for dealing with the after math of hurricane Irma it sounds like. The kids will evacuate, I'm not worried about that. The house should be ok but still.... it looks like another major hurricane. Luckily Hurricane Harvey just skirted the other kid.
I have the best backyard in the world. Once summer gets here and the river gets down to normal levels I put the hammock out and this is where I am in my free time. Right now its about 5pm, after work and I'm watching the fish jump and the dragonflies chase the sunlight.
It really is the perfect place to catch up on my reading considering I'm reading about 10 Kindle books simultaneously. :)
New in the gallery is "Homesick". I'm attempting to learn Daz Studio. There's a bit of a learning curve compared to what I'm used to but it seems to be patterned after other 3D software that I've used in passing so I have hopes. :)
New in the gallery is the "Hybrid" and yes, she's as bad-assed as she looks. :)
This took only an hour to render in Poser 11 and then just a bit of postwork in Photoshop. I wasn't sure about using that lens flare that I used but I liked the effect and think it looks better with it than without. Hope everyone had a safe 4th of July. :)
I promise. And not just because that's 4 pieces of artwork for the weekend but because my eyes are getting tired. I really like the way this one turned out. "Fatal Beauty". Character rendered in Poser11 Pro. Background is a heavily manipulated resource that I purchased a while back. It looks nothing like the original.
I've been multi-tasking all day. Now it's wine and pizza and back to my Kindle. :)
Latest sci-fi image in the gallery is "Eclipse". I was following another tutorial to sharpen my photoshop skills and this one was an excellent lesson in brushes. And now since I've been on my ass in front of the computer for half of the day I think it's time to hit the elliptical machine with my latest Sci-Fi book on Kindle. :)
